Rosenfeld has been in the business of sponge processing for more than 100 years.
In Trieste, the opening of the Rosenfeld Ltd. was possible because of the hard work of David Rosenfeld in 1896. The city was under the rule of the Austro-Hungarian Franz Joseph I. To date it is the oldest Sponge Processing Company in Europe.
The family, which for four generations continues to run the company, has made the processing of sea sponge a point of excellence: the family knows the secrets, the particularities and the waters where there are the best specimens.
The raw sponges that arrive at the factory from fishing places are still handcrafted with traditional methods of washing, purification, hand trimming and selectioned in terms of quality and size with the utmost care and professionalism.
Natural sponges are fished in the respect of nature: they are harvested by cutting the roots from the seabed allowing the base to develop a regrowth.
Sponges are ecological, made of hypoallergenic material that makes them particularly recommended for dermis care.
To date there is no artificial product that has the same qualities of absorption, containment of water and softness of a marine sponge.
The use of natural sponges preserves the environment: a drop of bubble bath is sufficient to generate a soft and abundant foam and the consumption of detergents is thus considerably reduced.
